Wessel started working for SAP in 2012 as a digital marketer for the EMEA region, after which he moved through various roles in the Dutch marketing department before finally making the move to global marketing in 2017.
Wessel is passionate about marketing, especially when it allows him to get creative. In his 7+ years as a marketing professional, he’s climbed his way up through many innovative and creative campaigns in which he won the Gold Grand Prix Content Marketing Award and a top 3 spot in the LinkedIn Marketing Awards (Best Brand Impact in EMEA) for the SAP Run Live Truck initiative.
After moving to the global marketing organization, Wessel started as the EMEA/MEE Marketing Manager, which meant end-to-end accountability for the regional marketing strategy & plan for one of SAP’s marketing priorities: SAP Leonardo. In this role, he supported 16 market units in their planning and development of awareness/demand generation/pipeline acceleration marketing programs.
Since October 2018, Wessel is the Global Marketing Lead for SAP Leonardo, where he leads the creative process of building and delivering global marketing campaigns for solutions like Blockchain, AI, Machine Learning, Chatbots, Internet of Things, and Robotic Process Automation.
Most recently, his project ‘SAP Leonardo Now Online’ was nominated for an ITSMA award in the category: Engaging Executives with Thought Leadership and Innovation.
