ITSMA Announces 2010 Marketing Excellence Award Categories

New categories include Marketing with Social Media, Senior Client Engagement Programs, and Developing and Launching New Offerings

LEXINGTON, Massachusetts—March 30, 2010—ITSMA, the leading marketing association for technology, communications, and professional services providers, is pleased to announce the launch of its 2010 Marketing Excellence Awards program.

The awards program, now in its thirteenth year, honors the marketing strategies, programs, and campaigns that have achieved excellence at technology, telecom, communications, and professional services firms worldwide. The awards put special emphasis on marketing innovation, program execution, and business results.

“We know how stretched most marketing organizations are right now but we encourage you to share your successes with us and be recognized,” said David Munn, President and CEO. “It’s a great opportunity to show how marketing is helping lead your company out of the downturn.”

Categories for 2010

Entries for the 2010 Marketing Excellence Awards program may be submitted in the following six categories:

  • Developing and Launching New Offerings: Highlighting the strength of the offering development process along with the key marketing activities involved with launching successful new services, solutions, business models, practice areas, or revamped offerings.
  • Enabling Sales: Improving collaboration between marketing and sales, developing integrated sales and marketing programs that generate increased results, and providing new tools and new approaches that improve sales productivity.
  • Lead Generation, Management, and Measurement: Capturing customer and prospect insight, mapping marketing with sales and buying stages, nurturing prospects with marketing content, and creating clear lead definitions agreed upon by sales and marketing. Also, creating a closed-loop process for managing leads between marketing and sales, and using a tracking and metrics system that demonstrates how leads contribute to the sales pipeline.
  • Marketing with Social Media: Using the new social media channels to obtain customer and market insight, develop and disseminate company thought leadership, engaging with customers and market influencers, generating demand, and tracking and measuring business impact.
  • Senior Client Engagement Programs: Developing innovative relationship building programs, integrating customer facing activities across the organization, focusing the programs around relevant and compelling business content, rather than hospitality, and demonstrating measurable results.
  • Thought Leadership Marketing: Describing your systems and approaches (such as dashboards, CRM), key measurements, explaining how the data is used and communicated, and the results of your measurement initiative on marketing’s value to the business.

Deadline for Submissions

The deadline for submissions is Friday, June 11, 2010. The winners will be announced at a special awards dinner at ITSMA’s Annual Marketing Conference in November.

Last year’s winners included: AT&T, BT, Cisco, Cognizant, CSC, Deloitte, HCL, Iron Mountain, IBM, Siemens Enterprise Communications, and Xerox Global Services.
