Inner Circle Meeting
Social Media: Obstacles & Objections
February 23, 2010
6–9 pm GMT
Elena’s L’Etoile
London, UK
Overview
In the recent global ITSMA and PAC, How Customers Choose Study, 2009, we found that 75% of respondents used web-base tools (such as LinkedIn; Blogs; Facebook; Twitter; Plaxo) to gather information and communicate with colleagues during the purchase process – and that figure rises to 95% when we look at the results specifically for Europe. Given this and the importance of relationships in the B2B technology buying process, it is clear why marketers should give social media more prominence in their marketing activity.
However, we all know that there is a world of difference between knowing you should be doing something, and actually being able to implement it.
At this Inner Circle Meeting we will be joined by Henry Clifford-Jones from LinkedIn, and together we will be considering some of the obstacles and objections marketers are having to address when introducing and/or integrating social media into their wider marketing activities—from within marketing; from within other departments; and from senior management.
As always, we will share examples to enrich the conversation but will also be encouraging attendees to share their own views and ideas on the subject.
