Richard Seymour
Senior Vice President, ITSMA and Managing Director, ITSMA Europe

Richard leads ITSMA Europe's thought leadership research, executive events, professional development programmes, and consultancy, all designed to keep members and clients at the forefront of marketing practice. Although qualified as a Control Systems engineer with grounding in the aerospace industry, Richard has 30 years of marketing, business development, general management, and consultancy experience.

Prior to joining ITSMA, Richard held board positions with global technology-based businesses in the UK, France, and the USA, across the software, systems, telecommunications and services sectors. As President of European operations for NASDAQ quoted Odetics Group, Seymour managed and developed the business in numerous industries. Prior to Odetics, Richard was MD of AT&T’s financial services business, and executive director of Apricot Computers Plc, where he held positions as Sales and Marketing Director, and Managing Director of the International business, which included a period in Paris, France running the French subsidiary.

In recent times, Richard has provided go-to-market consulting and board level advice with businesses such as BT, Hays Plc, and emerging technology players such as Kainos Software.

Richard studied for an Msc at Cranfield Institute of Technology and received an MCIT, is fluent in French, is an avid tennis player and runs marathons. He can be reached at rseymour@itsma.com and (0)1628 603130 in our Burnham office in Buckinghamshire.

 

Celia Gaffney
Associate Director, ITSMA Europe

Celia is an Associate Director with ITSMA Europe, working on operational marketing issues, particularly where they interface with other business functions such as business development, sales, and customer service.

With nearly 20 years in the Marketing, Sales and Customer Service fields, at IBM, as a Partner at KPMG Consulting, and latterly as Marketing Director at Atos Origin, Celia has a wealth of experience both in operational business management, and in professional services Consulting. Celia’s focus is on assisting businesses in developing pragmatic customer management strategies through to operational delivery, working with organisations to help them to improve reach and deliver value to the business.

Celia joined ITSMA from Atos Origin IT Services where as Head of Marketing, she was responsible for Industry and Solutions Marketing, Market Intelligence, Government Relations, PR, and the Sales and Marketing ‘Professional’ Programme

Celia holds a BA (Hons) degree from University College, London.

Jerry Dixon
Associate Director, ITSMA Europe

Jerry Dixon supports ITSMA Europe members around their marketing priorities and decision making through consultancy, research, and analysis. A creative and enthusiastic practitioner, he has over 20 years of business-to-business services marketing experience gained in the IT, telecommunications, and professional services sectors.

Jerry has led a variety of strategic marketing projects for the UK, EMEA, and worldwide markets, and has developed strategic and tactical marketing solutions for companies including Microsoft, T-Mobile, Cellnet, Clifford Chance, Marshalls, IBM, and ICO Global Communications.

Prior to joining ITSMA, Jerry did consulting work for a global professional services organization, creating a strategic framework and providing recommendations for the development of Internet-based services. Before that, he designed and managed a major primary market research and business modeling project for an international telecommunications operator to substantiate the worldwide business opportunity for a new service; subject to due diligence scrutiny, his work provided the basis for financing.

Tim Shercliff
Associate Director, ITSMA Europe

Tim delivers advanced marketing training, facilitates workshops, and provides expert consulting on strategic marketing issues such as market segmentation, portfolio analysis, solutions marketing and value propositions, sales enablement, and customer experience management. The combination of his line management experience, strategy and marketing expertise, and strong analytical approach gives him the ability to create and implement practical programs that deliver real business value.

Tim joined ITSMA from IBM, where he was strategy & marketing director for IBM Global Services in Northern Europe. He sat on the Board for IBM Global Services in Northern Europe from 2002-2005 and was a member of the Operating Team for IBM UK from 1995 to 2005. Prior to that, he held services P&L management roles, served as director of e-business solutions, and ran an industry vertical business for IBM, where he grew businesses to $200M and managed teams of over 300 people.

Tim received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nottingham. He is also an accredited IBM consultant, client manager, and systems engineer.

Carole Allen
Senior Associate, ITSMA Europe

Carole’s role with ITSMA Europe is to deliver results for members in advisory projects. She joins ITSMA having spent over thirty years in sales and marketing, predominantly in the IT industry where latterly she was business services development manager for IBM, working at a global level.

Carole has extensive and varied industry knowledge across a diverse range of clients and is effective at building relationships at all levels to achieve business goals.

Her particular recent focus has been marketing communications, both within corporations and with their broad range of external stakeholders, contributing to the integration of people and processes post merger and acquisition, as well as during the implementation of complex, multi-national outsourcing deals. She combines her innate and intuitive understanding of markets and clients with her abilities to operate strategically and tactically, developing innovative solutions in response to changing business needs.

Carole is a Chartered Marketer and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and until June 2004, was Chair of the Wessex Branch. She is a founder member of a new entrepreneurs’ club under the auspices of the Institute of Directors.

David Allchin
Associate Director, ITSMA Europe

David works with ITSMA Europe members on improving the strategic effectiveness of marketing and sales resources. He specialises in relationship management, client satisfaction improvement, the deployment of marketing and sales systems and processes, and the delivery and development of training. Across these areas David applies excellent consulting, change management, project management, quality management, and leadership skills.

David joined ITSMA Europe from IBM, where he was most recently responsible for client satisfaction improvement across IBM’s business units in Northern Europe. Prior to that, he held client-facing roles with both P&L responsibility and core operational roles. His background of line management roles in delivering services to clients and change to marketing and sales at all levels enables him to deliver practical programmes with significant value to his clients.

David holds a BSc (Hons) degree from the University of Manchester.

Gerry Brown
Associate Director, ITSMA Europe

Gerry has over 20 years of experience in marketing and sales management in the software and services industry. Prior to joining ITSMA, he was the U.K. & Ireland marketing director for Hyperion Solutions and head of marketing at MicroStrategy. Prior to that, he held sales and marketing management positions at Xerox and ICL Fujitsu. As an external consultant, Gerry has provided strategic marketing advice for many leading systems, software, and services vendors, and he's also trained marketing and sales teams.

Gerry is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM) and lectures on the highest level CIM course, the Professional Postgraduate Diploma, at Thames Valley University.
Allison Lambden

Alison Lambden
Associate Director, Communications

Alison supports ITSMA Europe in both its internal and external communications, ensuring communication of ITSMA services and activities are closely aligned to the European market and members’ needs. Alison also advises member companies on their communications strategy and programmes.

With around 15 years public relations and communications experience, Alison has a thorough understanding of business-to-business communications, with an emphasis on reputation development. Skilled in the management of both communications and relationships, she has helped deliver successful integrated marketing programmes for large and small businesses, mainly in the technology, professional services and healthcare sectors. With a strong strategic perspective and creative approach to key communications challenges, her expertise includes stakeholder and influencer relations, client communications and event management. Alison has established writing and editing skills, and was co-author of the UK Facilities Management Market Audit™, Third Edition, 2002.

Alison’s strength in communications includes managing her own PR consultancy in London and prior to this, working as an account director for leading UK healthcare consultancy, Counsellor Public Relations. Prior to focusing her career in the communications industry Alison was the New Zealand sales manager for blue chip pharmaceutical Smith, Kline & French, where she gained significant knowledge of the sales function and its role within the marketing mix. This experience contributes to the integrated approach Alison now takes to all communications projects.

Alison is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
